Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
